Floor Heating – Is that a Problem?
If your home features underfloor heating, this needs to be carefully reviewed before any lift installation begins. When the lift is installed in a 50 mm pit (to make the door flush with the floor), it’s essential to confirm that the pit can be created without damaging any underfloor heating pipes or cables.
If the lift is installed directly on top of the floor, you’ll need to ensure that bolts can be safely anchored through the surface without disrupting any floor heating components.
For any floor cut-outs—such as those required for access to a second or third floor—floor heating systems must again be carefully assessed. It’s crucial to prevent accidental cutting of pipes or electrical heating elements that may run through the slab or subfloor.
