How does it work with a pit?
Traditional elevators typically require a deep elevator pit to provide room for shock buffers and safe access beneath the cabin. These pits can be quite extensive—ranging from 600 mm to 1,500 mm deep in conventional builds. While manageable in commercial buildings, such depth can pose a serious challenge in private homes due to foundation, space, and structural limitations.
At SWIFT, we’ve reimagined the detail elevator pit to suit modern living spaces. Thanks to our platform-lift design, the installation can be completely pitless, or it may require just a 50 mm shallow pit that maintains aesthetics and safety without major excavation.
Our shallow pit allows the lift platform to sit flush with the floor, delivering a seamless transition between levels—ideal for clean interior design and practical access. Shallow pits in similar low-rise applications typically range from 50 to 150 mm.
Beyond aesthetics, a minimal pit also reduces installation cost, preserves structural integrity, and accelerates the installation process. Waterproofing and level base design are simpler as well. Whether installed at floor level or with the ultra‑shallow pit, SWIFT ensures your home elevator integrates elegantly without compromising on safety or comfort.
