How much space is needed for the home lift?
It’s still possible to take advantage of the benefits of a home elevator without having lots of space. In fact, the SWIFT XXS is small enough to fit in an area the size of an airing cupboard! It’s our smallest and most compact home lift and perfect for smaller residential spaces. We also have a range of home lifts for disabled with wheelchair access which may require more room.
However, we can ensure that whatever model you choose, you make the most of the space you have.
Both SWIFT Pro and SWIFT Lite come in 6 different sizes. Each size is developed to maximise the usage focusing on need in a normal modern family, yet trying to minimise the space required in the house.
Each home lift size has a unique floor size (the area you stand on), a corresponding outer dimension (which is the size of the home lift + shaft) and a “hole-through-the-floor” size which is the size of the hole or area needed between 2 floors.
Both SWIFT Pro and SWIFT Lite can be installed right on the floor or recessed in a 50 mm pit. The space needed on the last floor (the top height) is only 2275 mm.
