Villa Lyskulle
Nestled on the 14-kilometer-long peninsula of Onsala on Sweden’s West Coast, with views over the Kattegatt, lies Villa Lyskulle. In December 2021, this family of four bought a piece of land right here to realise their dream of a sustainable, modernist home with the sea as their neighbor. Not until 2023 was the building permit approved, allowing the construction to truly begin. With a completed design developed in collaboration with an architectural firm and their own construction company backing them, the family managed to build their house in record time, allowing them to move in during the autumn of 2024.
The architecture of Villa Lyskulle is inspired by the Swedish functionalism, a modernistic style – that got very popular in the 1930s – in architecture and interior decoration guided by function. Thus, the decision to install a SWIFT home lift was a natural extension of this design philosophy. The functional villa consists of three floors, with the entrance level including a kitchen and living room, a master bedroom with an adjoining bathroom and walk-in closet, a children’s room, and an office. The lower level features a utility entrance and laundry room. The top floor offers a space with a mile-wide sea view and a future terrace.
